Screens for Wood Windows
Sideways Sliding windows
These are usually held in with a pair springs on one side and finger pull tabs on the other.
Up and down windows
They are also known as single or double hung windows. The newer style replacement windows made by Marvin for instance, can also have spring loaded screens as above if you only wish to open the bottom sash for ventilation. If you want to open the top sash (this is the best ventilation option for upper floor windows and for safety when children are in the rooms) then a full outside mounted screen is needed. We call this a jiffy screen because it installs in a jiffy.
In-swing or out-swing windows
Also known as casement windows can have several types of screens. We can install a full length jiffy screen as mentioned above, a screen held in by spring loaded plungers (pins) or a roll away screen that pulls down from the top. Out swing casement windows either need a screen that moves out of the way like a roll away or a screen with a wicket.
Screen Installation Options
Contrary to popular belief you can put aluminum window screens onto wood windows. They are less noticeable than the old wood window screens and run about 1/6th the cost. They are constructed of a heavy gage aluminum frame with metal corners and come with a “Two Year Warranty”. We will not use plastic parts because we want your screens to last as long as possible.

We have several frame colors to choose from depending on the thickness needed: white, bronze, mill, almond, tan, and black. Plus we can custom color screen frames. There are several mesh types to pick from besides the regular fiberglass insect mesh.
